As the Founder’s Memorial opened this year, the visitor footfall has reached almost 200,000. The memorial that has been established in the capital city of Abu Dhabi has drawn massive interest from visitors from within the UAE and abroad.
Ever since the memorial was opened in April, 2018, a total of 198,919 visitors have dropped in to witness the monument that is a rich tribute to the late Shaikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the Founding Father of the UAE. Encompassing an area of 3.3 hectares, the memorial is a sight for sore eyes.
The Director General of the Founder’s Memorial, Dr Yousuf Al Obaidii, said that the memorial has hosted delegations representing about 3,277 educational institutions and 2,180 government departments, in addition to 556 guests from the private sector and hotels, and 217 visitors from embassies in the UAE. The memorial is open to the public daily and offers free guided tours.
